THE 47th annual meeting at the Quality Hotel was attended by many clubs and district officers.
Candles of Friendship were lit and in sending greetings to Inner Wheel Clubs the world over, special thoughts were given to Rotarian Bond and his family who are recovering from their recent ordeal in South Africa.
The Mayor of Redditch brought greetings and received a cheque for his charity, Redditch Citizens Advice Bureau. He thanked the club for the help it had given to so many charities, both locally and nationally, for many years.
Speaker John Sunderland gave a talk on his experiences with St John Ambulance. He became Commissioner for West Midlands and presided over the centenary celebrations in 1987 when 160,000 took part. The first rally was held for Queen Victoria in 1887.
The March business meeting was held at Plymouth Court, Headless Cross, when members enjoyed an excellent buffet supper. On behalf of all members, President Georgina Hunt sent thanks for the hospitality.
