WORKERS are set to benefit as Worcestershire County Council starts a new scheme to promote energy efficiency.
Do-it-yourself home energy check forms will be given to every member of staff at County Hall and other council buildings, including schools and libraries.
Council workers can then fill them in and receive advice and special offers on ways to save energy in their homes.
Vouchers for energy-saving equipment, such as low-energy light bulbs and radiator reflector panels, will be on offer, as well as special deals on new boilers, heating controls and insulation.
The scheme is run by Warwickshire and Worcestershire Energy Efficiency Advice Centre and also includes Worcester City Council.
Exhibitions are being held for council staff at County Hall and at the city council's offices.
"The scheme is a great opportunity for our staff to benefit from free advice and special offers that will help them to save money, at the same time as protecting the environment," said Councillor John Smith, assistant cabinet member for environment and sustainability.
"The county council is promoting the scheme as part of its overall campaign to encourage energy efficiency at work."
Employers in the Worcester City area keen to become involved in the scheme should call 0800 512012.
