TWO dedicated dancers spun their way to a top title at the United Kingdom freestyle championships.
After training seven hours a week for four years, 13-year-old Julia Handley and Holly Clarke, 12, whirled away as overall champions.
Dressed in £1,000 costumes, the Worcester Freestyle Dance School pupils beat 30 other couples competing for the under-14s title.
Julia also swept the judges off their feet in the solo dance, coming fourth in the country.
Principal Shauna Thompson, who teaches 45 five to 18-year-olds, said their win was "completely mind-blowing".
"Although we compete every other Sunday, this kind of thing never happens to a small school like ours."
Two girls, who attend Christopher Whitehead High and hope to embark on dancing careers, were on the go from 6.30am to 11.30pm, she said.
"They live for dancing. They were both naturally good when they started but they are also really hard workers," she said.
"When the results came out, it was amazing. Their mums and dads were crying their eyes out."
