Once in every academic year schools and colleges can nominate a pupil, or a small group of students between 12 and 18, who have made an outstanding contribution by improving life for others, enhancing school or community or showing outstanding qualities in overcoming adverse circumstances.
The award has been given for starting a Student Befriending Scheme which, supports younger pupils through the transition from primary to secondary education and also provides a listening ear.
Mr Michael Brinton, the Lord Lieutenant of Worcestershire, presented the award to the students involved in initiating the project which also addresses bullying, integration, and also homework.
