1803: ON Friday morning last, William Colledge, convicted of horse stealing at the last Worcester Assizes, was executed, pursuant to his sentence, at the gallows on Red Hill near this city.

1903: Frank Noble (27), motor car driver to Sir Francis Winnington of Stanford Court, Worcestershire, met with an accident on Wednesday, causing the loss of two fingers on his right hand. About 2.40 p.m., he was starting the car under the Foregate Street Railway Bridge when his hand slipped into the machinery.
Hussy Inflicted Several Scratches - Elizabeth Harding, single woman of Friar Street, was summonsed before Worcester Police Court for assaulting Henry Evans, of Friar Street. Defendant, who has 19 previous convictions, was fined 10s with 11s. costs, or 14 days jail in default.
Hugh Graham (19), Henry Coates (18) and William Russell (19), drummers in the Worcestershire Regiment stationed at Norton Barracks, were each fined £1 at the City Police Court for causing annoyance by disorderly conduct in Bath Road.
They persisted in using bad language despite being cautioned by two police officers. The court was told there had been frequent complaints about soldiers' bad behaviour in Bath Road at weekends.

General Sir Richard Gale (56), Commander-in-Chief of the British Army of the Rhine and the Colonel of the Worcestershire Regiment, is to re-marry. He is engaged to Miss Daphne Black, of Kensington. His first wife Ethel, whom he married in 1924, died two years ago.
