WORCESTER'S police station may have moved house but the cells at Deansway are preparing for a new set of "prisoners".
A charity jailbreak is being held on Tuesday, April 1 to raise money for Acorns Children's Hospice Trust.
Volunteers will be arrested and escorted to the 1930s police station - now St Wulstan's at Worcester College of Technology - from where they will have to raise their release bail.
Already signed up for the task, which involves the prisoners being locked in one of the former cells, is The Alice Ottley School headmistress, Morag Chapman.
But fund-raisers are hoping the cells will be back to their former glory and bulging with prisoners.
As well as a novel way of helping raise cash for the new hospice it is also the chance to get to know other cellmates.
The release bail has been set at £100 and once it has been handed over prisoners will be released back into the community.
Volunteers will be able to start the bail fund before they are arrested but how long they remain in custody is down to their colleagues.
