SWIMMING: Jonathon Baylie and Amy Smith each took six gold medals at the Worcestershire County Championships in Worcester during the weekend.
They were just two of the Wyre Forest Swimming Club successes at the competition where 23 girls and 17 boys prospered.
The Forest members brought home 29 gold medals or first places, 21 silvers or second places and 16 bronzes or third places.
Many Midland district qualifying times and some national were achieved.
Smith achieved a double in the county champion finals, held for the top six swimmers across all age groups.
She was senior and junior victor in the 100m freestyle and 100m backstroke, while breaking various county records, including the senior 200m freestyle best.
Hannah Wear won a bronze in the county champion 100m backstroke with Emma Levitt finishing sixth.
Wear also took the junior trophy in the 200m breaststroke.
Chris Wildgust finished second in the 50m freestyle final and Jodie Cook was fourth in the 50m freestyle.
Aimee Cook, Wear and Liam Garbett each took home a hat-trick of gold position successes.
Chief coach Godfrey Short said: "All our swimmers have trained really hard all year and fully deserved the recognition they received."
