VOLLEYBALL: Hard work and commitment paid off for Cleobury Mortimer who put up a good fight at Telford despite losing 3-0 to their county rivals.
The relatively new Cleobury Hereford and Worcester League team has improved greatly over the season and the girls can be proud of their latest display as the season draws to a close.
Telford took the first set 25-15 despite player-of-the-match Corrina Downes' fine display and the excellent passing of Julie White.
Determined Cleobury started the second with strong hitting from Julie Millichamp and Louise Rochell but ended up losing it 25-16.
Tina Bate was strong at the net and Robyn Slingsby served two aces in a battling third set.
But the more experienced Telford just pulled through 25-21.
