A meeting of the Broadway Reading Room committee was held on Wednesday week. Mr A. G. Morris was voted to the chair, and after a lengthened discussion on the letter that appeared in the Evesham Journal of last week on the need of increased accommodation, it was unanimously resolved, on the motion of Dr. Standring, seconded by Mr Jarrett, that the possibility of improving the room be discussed at the forthcoming annual general meeting.

Anyone in Wychavon who wants to see the X-certificate film "The Black Panther" will have to go out of the district to do so. Members of Wychavon district council's health committee vote by nine votes to four to ban the film from cinemas in its area. The committee went against its policy of allowing films to be shown which had been passed by the British Board of Film Censors. Mr R.J.Beckley, chairman of the council, said: "Why I would bitterly oppose this film is because we have people living not three miles away from here who are affected by it. We should think of them."
