BETWEEN 15 and 20 people are estimated to have taken part in a vigil in Kidderminster to show solidarity with the people of Iraq during the ongoing conflict.
Wyre Forest Amnesty International organised the vigil, held on the steps of Baxter Church on Saturday.
Lyn Grogan, spokesman for the Wyre Forest group, was among those participating in the two-hour event, which was arranged to highlight Amnesty's continuing commitment to human rights.
She explained it was not an anti-war protest. She added: "It's more really to do with sympathy with the Iraqi people and wanting to emphasise the need to continue with the human rights element.
"I think it's a question of being seen to be caring."
The Kidderminster vigil was part of a national initiative repeated across the country by Amnesty.
