MORE than 1,200 people in Kidderminster lost their electricity supplies for almost one-and-a-half hours after workmen cut through a high voltage underground cable.
The power went off at around 12.30pm on Tuesday when workmen struck the cable at the Weavers Wharf development, which was one of the areas affected.
Vicar Street, Eddy Road, Bull Ring, Radford Avenue, Horsefair and Lower Mill Street also lost their supplies before they were restored at around 1.50pm.
"There were 1,217 people off supply," said Aquila spokesman Andy Barr, who added the problems had not been caused by anyone connected with the company.
"We were informed through customers calling us," he explained.
