FRUSTRATED drivers faced two miles of tailbacks during Kidderminster rush- hour traffic as workmen struggled to get a gas leak on Chester Road under control.
Work on the gas escape began on Saturday and finished on Wednesday, holding up traffic with a four-way set of lights at the junction of Stourbridge Road and Chester Road.
A spokeswoman for gas company Transco said: "Safety has to be our number one priority and I am sure that the public would like to be sure that the area is safe again."
