Telford Juniors 1
Clee Hill 2
CLEE Hill rebounded from last week's disappointing Shropshire County League Division One home draw against Dawley to leapfrog third placed Telford in a very competitive and closely contested game.
Telford made the early running but the visitors gradually found their rhythm and after a period of pressure took the lead in the final minute of the first half when Telford failed to clear a corner. Nick Wilding picked up the sliced clearance just outside the box and hit the target with a crisp drive through a crowded area.
Telford got back on terms early in the second half with a contentious goal. Hill goalkeeper Paul Jones' clearance kick was headed straight back over the visiting defence, and as the Clee defenders stopped and appealed for a clear off-side, the home striker raced clear to chip Jones for the equaliser.
Hill did not drop their heads and continued to push up looking for the winner. It was not long in coming with Jamie Shingler breaking down the left flank before cutting the ball back for supporting mid-fielder Richard Martin to drive home.
