LAST Saturday, the Village Hall echoed to the swish and slurp of over 40 wine tasters swilling a variety of red and white wines. Lest you think that Bacchus had taken over, let me assure you that all was decorum and most of the samples ended up down the sink. This is not a reflection on the quality of the wines but an indication of the serious nature of the exercise. We all learnt a lot about the various grape varieties and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Thanks to Mike Jackson for being our guide and mentor. Thanks also to Pat O'Malley and helpers for providing a splendid meal after the tasting. At last we could drink the wine.
Wells Players - the next play reading is on Tuesday at 7.30pm. Details from Val Greaves on (01684) 566860.
