MOTHERING Sunday will be celebrated at St James Church, Staunton on Sunday by the united benefice of Hartpury, Corse, Staunton and Maisemore with the traditional cake making by Canon John Evans and his eager band of helpers - the children! The cake will be later cut up and distributed on Easter Sunday at St James to everyone present. The children will also be given a posy to give to their mother and grandmothers with a card. This lovely custom has been held in Staunton church for nearly 25 years.
Staunton Church annual parochial church meeting will be held in the church on Thursday, April 8 at 7.30pm when parishioners will be most welcome to come and hear about the work of the church throughout the year.
