PEACE vigils, demonstrations and prayers to stop the war in Iraq are to continue in Malvern.
Some churches are setting aside corners for prayer and the newly formed branch of the Stop the War Coalition is holding nightly vigils on Belle Vue Terrace.
Tomorrow (Saturday), the group hopes significant numbers will turn out for another demonstration in the town centre at noon.
At the inaugural meeting on Friday, member Eileen Richardson said around 70 people turned up. The next meeting is at the Friends Meeting House, Orchard Road tonight at 7.30pm.
At Malvern Priory, a display has been set up in the north aisle to give people a focus for quiet reflection and prayer. It is open daily from 9am to 4.30pm as long as the war continues.
Prayers for peace are also being said each evening at 6pm at St James Church, Colwall.
At St Mary's in Sherrards Green, in Malvern, every morning from Monday to Saturday there will be prayers from 8am to 8.15am.
Christ Church in Malvern will also open its doors between 1pm and 2pm on Mondays to Fridays for private prayer and quiet time.
West Worcestershire MP, Sir Michael Spicer, plans to speak on the conflict, during the annual meeting of the Conservative Association at 7.30pm tonight at Welland Village Hall.
