REDUNDANT workers say they cannot claim income support despite having not been paid for eight weeks.

The workers were employed by Global Digital Trading Ltd, formerly Retail Futures, on Malvern Hills Science Park, which has ceased trading.

It operated the World of Shopping website, which sold products online from suppliers throughout the UK.

In a statement, staff said they were unsure if they would get paid what they were owed.

"The official liquidator has still to be confirmed four weeks after the closure," the statement said. "To date, this confusion has meant that the eight former employees have not received Jobseekers' Allowance and those who have not found work have now gone over eight weeks without any income."

John Andrews, chief executive of the company, confirmed it had ceased trading but would not comment on the reasons why.

He added customers' concerns were now being dealt with by Altura International, which is now operating the World of Shopping website.

"I believe the customers are being looked after," he said.
