A new water clock is to be unveiled in front of its inventor at Malvern Theatres tonight (Friday).
French sculptor, designer and horologist, Bernard Gitton will watch as actress Janet McTeer unveils the clepsydra, commissioned to celebrate Malvern's aquatic, scientific and theatrical heritage.
Mr Gitton has completed installations in parks, museums, airports and shopping malls around the world, but Malvern is now home to the only example of his work in public view in the UK.
Tonight's launch party, in the Circle Bar, has been organised by the work's commissioners, The Elmley Foundation, a grant making charity funded by Countess Beauchamp of Madresfield Court.
Ms McTeer will be performing in The Duchess of Malfi in the Festival Theatre following the launch.
