MALVERN RADAR 0, MARTLEY SPURS RESERVES 0
THERE were no goals at Victoria Park last Sunday in a match best described as average.
The drying uneven pitch caused the ball to bounce a little higher than usual and immediate control was needed to create anything worthwhile. The best first half chance fell to Trevor Bagnall who headed Clive Churchill's well hit corner wide of an open goal.
Gary Burston then created an opening for himself with some nimble footwork only for Martley's keeper Adrian Arnold to spot the danger and block his shot.
There was plenty of effort from both teams although chances were certainly few and far between with Arnold, the busiest of the two keepers, pulling off two fine brave saves at the feet of Lee Brookes and Nial Henderson.
Chris Ball at the other end was only really called into action late on when Tom Edwards latched onto an underhit back pass. Ball forced him wide of the target and Phil Birch was on hand to clear the attempt on goal.
This Sunday Radar are home to Cutnall Green, players meet 9.45am at Victoria Park.
