The prophets of doom are once again circling like vultures over the future of Leadon Bank Care Home sowing fear and despondency among the elderly and the staff.
The facts are the sale, privatisation or closure of Leadon Bank has never been proposed. A partnership is being sought in order to ensure the long-term future and expansion of our homes to meet the ever growing demand. A number of potential partners are being considered and Herefordshire Council will ensure the highest standards of care will continue and the long-term future of the homes be secured.
As a local councillor I will fight to ensure the best care possible is maintained at Leadon Bank, and being in my sixties, you may say it is a matter of enlightened self-interest.
Coun Barry Ashton, Old Church Road, Colwall.
