HEREFORD United's promotion push will succeed or fail at Edgar Street beginning with Margate's visit tomorrow (3pm).
The Bulls have six games remaining and with four at home are still well positioned to stake a claim for a Nationwide Conference play-off spot.
However manager Graham Turner is not looking beyond five o'clock tomorrow in their attempts to secure one of the precious play-off spots.
The Bulls boss will happily sacrifice performance in exchange for three points and while the fate of United is no longer in their own hands Turner remains hopeful that rivals will slip up somewhere along the line.
"It's no good saying we need five wins out of six or thinking too far ahead," he said.
"At this stage we have just got to make sure we win and then see how other results affect us.
"Chester and Morecambe will be the results we'll keep a closest eye on and we have to hope that somewhere along the line they slip up and we can capitalise but that means us taking care of business at our end."
With just one win in their last six games Hereford's form has stuttered but they will take some comfort ahead of tomorrow's clash with the memory of February's 2-0 win at Margate still fresh in their minds.
"We had a good win and performance at Margate but now it is just points that are important," added Turner.
"The level of performance and all sorts of things go out of the window. I'd like to see an entertaining game with good football but it's the points that are more important.
"Home advantage has to be a big factor. Up until recently we've had a decent away record although at Barnet I thought we did reasonably well we should have done better but we didn't and that puts a little bit more pressure on us."
Suspension and injury will hamper Turner's options with striker John Grant completing a three-match ban and midfielder Jamie Pitman starting a two-match ban.
But three of their new signings Albon Correia, Mark Gayle and Karl Hawley will be included in the squad. Their fourth deadline-day signing Jordan Lambert is unlikely to feature.
More worrying is the likely absence of key defender Tony James who is nursing a swollen ankle.
"He turned his ankle at Barnet and it was badly swollen," said Turner. "He's generally a quick healer but tomorrow might be too early for him."
Margate, who are without a win in five games, have appointed former Chelsea and Leyton Orient player Kevin Hales as manager Chris Kinnear's assistant.
FORMCAST: Bulls to win 2-0.
