REALISING that Government plans to build millions more houses would fire local Nimby groups into orbit, the Government has destroyed the freedom of local councils to prevent over-development.

Having successfully castrated the ability of the people to prevent the government building of millions of houses in our back yards, government is now pressing ahead with building some of the six million new homes it wants by 2020.

The fact that our roads can't cope, carbon dioxide emissions will rise, more rubbish that we can't dispose of will be created, and that we shall be concreting over the land, upon which we grow our food are all irrelevant, to the bureaucratic mind.

Birthrate

In reality, we do not need millions more new houses. Our nation's birthrate has now fallen below replacement levels. That means we are building these new home to accommodate the millions that want to come here and make new lives for themselves.

There were around 700,000 immigrants last year; 300,000 arrived who had queued to gain legal access; 100,000 so-called "key workers" 111,000 economic migrants, and between 150,000 and 200,000 who holidayed here and didn't return to their own countries.

Will someone please explain to me why we are building millions of new houses, solely to accommodate millions more immigrants, when our nation is obviously bursting at the seams, and already vastly more densely populated than China?

And would someone explain why those we have elected to manage our affairs won't listen to an electorate that regularly says "enough to enough?"
