BOSS Ian Britton is ready to overcome the possible disappoint-ment of missing out on promotion and make Kidderminster Harriers a force to be reckoned with in the future.
Harriers hopes of securing at least a Nationwide League Division Three play-off place have diminished recently after going three matches on the trot without a win.
Before today's game at relegation-threatened Macclesfield Town, however, they were still only a couple of points away from a top seven play-off spot.
And after 12 months in the Aggborough 'hot-seat', Britton says: "When taking the manager's job here my brief was to avoid relegation and we've done that. If we don't get up this year then my aim is to make this football club a force to be reckoned with in this league."
Britton accepts that he was not the first choice by many Harriers fans when he replaced former Liverpool star Jan Molby, but has relished the challenges he has faced since taking over.
He said: "I understand why some of the fans were unsure about me taking over as manager because of my apparent lack of experience at this level.
"To be fair most fans have given me a chance to prove myself. For that I am very appreciative. Even now there are some supporters who don't want me as manager but the majority of fans have been brilliant towards me.
"When I took over it was a very difficult time for the club having lost the chairman, manager and assistant manager within a very short space of time."
