COLWALL scored a double-header of victories in the Worcestershire Cricket Board Wednesday Indoor League at the Royal Grammar School.

They began with a 40-run victory over Old Vigornians. After totalling 140-3 in their 12 overs, Tom Wolfendale and Martin Oliver both hitting out in the closing stages after retiring earlier on. Steve Ferguson also retired on 27 and Lee Hankins made 14, Adam Phillips taking 1-31 and James Underwood 1-27.

OVs fell short on 100-3 in reply, Andy Judd retiring on 27 and Colin Cole making 21, Dave Mendham 19 and Phillips 17. Top bowlers were Paul Barnes (1-16) and Mark Shouler (1-20).

Colwall's second match saw them beat Droitwich 'C' by two wickets.

Neil Davies (31) and Dan Garbett (28) led Droitwich to a total of 100-6, Wolfendale taking 2-26, Oliver 1-26 and Shouler 1-4.

Colwall were cruising before the loss of quick wickets and got home with five balls to spare. Oliver ending on 33no and Wolfendale made 27.

Mike Wallace had outstanding figures of 1-8, backed up by Paul Treadwell (1-22).

In the Sunday League, Chaddesley Corbett beat Ombersley by 15 runs.

Chaddesley made 127-3 with Matt Boden making 28 retired, Mark Edwards 25, Sam Boden 23 and Kevin Truswell 12no, David Pugh taking 1-32 and Stuart McLoughlin 1-29.

Ombersley replied with 112-5 led by John Ringe (23), Stuart Cole (19), Duncan Catterall (18), Richard Cook (13) and David Pugh (10). Ian Chambers (1-19) was the only successful bowler.

Alvechurch proved too strong for Droitwich 'B', winning by 56 runs.

Alvechurch rattled up 135-2 thanks to Jim Clifford (44no), Duncan Pritchard (26 retired), John Rose (25 retired) and John Clifford (13no). Glen Harrison took 1-22.

Droitwich fell short at 79-6 with Nigel Haddock making 35, Jerome Connor 20 and Steve Walsh 10, John Clifford taking 2-29, Jim Clifford 1-14 and Rose 1-14.
