WORCESTER Wolves lost 108-84 in their away National Basketball Trophy match at Oxford Devils.
They went into the game with an unchanged team from the previous week's victory over Oxford.
Worcester's starting five included Rick Solvason, Ben Livingston, Colin Chiverton, Nick Vinsonneau and Josh Cooprider.
The first quarter was even with both teams shooting well from long range.
Livingston and Solvason scored well for the Wolves while Chiverton carried on from the previous week with some good offensive inside play.
The home side edged ahead 24-19 at the close of the opening quarter.
In the second period the Devils continued to shoot well from long range with Milnes particularly proving effective.
The Wolves persevered and despite struggling to recapture the form of the previous week they responded well and only trailed by seven points at half time.
Following the half time interval Ox-ford displayed an outstanding shooting performance, hitting 12 long range efforts without missing one.
Worcester struggled to create shooting opportunities and despite some excellent work by Solvason with great support from Livingston they could not compete with the Oxford team.
Encouragingly for the Wolves in the final quarter they refused to collapse and came back with a strong flourishing the closing stages. Paul Gerald finished strongly for the Wolves but in the end it was all too late as the Conference team ran out convincing winners. Rick Solvason top scored with 27 points.
The Wolves play Plymouth Raiders on Saturday at 7pm and then play Team Bath Romans on Tuesday, October 15 at 7.45pm.
The Wolves need to win three of the last four games to quality for the quarter finals. The new seating is in place.
Worcester: R Solvason, J Cooprider, B Livingston, M Wurmuli, N Vinsonneau, C Chiverton, G DiGallo, R Bowen, C Rhooms, P Gerald.
