I WAS very shocked to hear of Worcester City Council's decision to cut the grant given to the Worcester Swan Theatre next year.
I cannot understand why such an important asset to the city of Worcester is not to be fully supported.
The theatre has, for many years, provided much entertainment and education for people of all ages and backgrounds. Many schools from far and wide benefit from regular visits.
The children's theatre on a Saturday morning is a delightful way in which young children receive their first impression of visiting the theatre.
The Swan Theatre is a modern theatre, well situated in the city, with easy access and plenty of parking. An important, vibrant city such as Worcester needs a theatre and should be fully supported by the city council.
