WORCESTER Norton men's first team face Finchfield at home on Saturday when the DTZ Midlands Division One League campaign resumes after the Christmas break.
In the match at Finchfield Worcester only managed a 0-0 draw, but will be looking to take all three points to keep the pressure on top sides Sikh Union and Birmingham University who play each other on the first day back.
A full strength Worcester will greet Finchfield with James Cosh and Chris Adams back from National league indoor weekends with Harbourne, goalkeeper Ben Taylor from England under-18 training camps and several university players from their academic winter break.
Captain Ian Ewers said: "It is a game we must win, but to do that we need to overcome the very physical nature of the Finchfield side whose tactics in the away fixture caught us out.
"With Sikh Union and Birmingham playing each other it is a great opportunity to close the gap on one or both of them."
On Sunday Worcester make the trip to Henley-on-Thames for the next round of the English Hockey Association Trophy.
With little known about their opposition the red and blacks will be taking no chances and will have a full strength squad to get a vital extra game ahead of the following week's clash with Birmingham University.
Saturday's match has a 1.30pm push back at Nunnery Wood Sports Centre, Worcester.
