WORCESTER Norton women's first team had a blank weekend in their preparation for the restart of the Midland Premier Hockey League when their fixture with Swindon was called off because of a frozen pitch.
With only two practice matches to go they hope that this Saturday's match away to Stratford will be able to take place to give them much needed pitch time.
Stratford are in a mid-table position in Midland League Division One. Worcester expect to be at full strength.
Squad: Fiona Nash, Hannah Bourne, Sadie Lapper, Tina Evans, Becky Handy, Kate Fletcher, Charlene Mason, Sophie Wood, Becky Adams, Claire Stewardson, Kate Draper, Elaine Shepperd, Jo Walker, Amanda Smith.
Worcester seconds suffered a similar disappointment as their first team colleagues when Redditch's pitch was declared unfit.
On Saturday they are away to Bournville first as part of their warm up programme.
Worcester thirds were able to play and suffered a disappointing loss to Badsey from Worcestershire Division Two.
On Saturday they are at home to Bourneville seconds (University College 3.30pm) and hope that their new training regime will start to produce better results.
The fourths managed half a game against Studley and were well in control before the pitch became too dangerous. This week they are away to Blossomfield in Birmingham.
