BROMSGROVE Rovers still need another £14,000 to stave off the threat of a winding-up order.
Rovers have to raise £22,000 in total by March 20 to pay off an outstanding bill to the Inland Revenue.
A total of £8,000 has been raised so far through their two fund-raising matches with Wolves and Aston Villa and an increase in the number of shares.
Chief executive Pat Bannister is now appealing for more people to come forward and make donations.
He said: "There seem to be more people I don't recognise coming in to give donations or buy shares than people I do. So if more loyal fans, and we've got about 500 of those, come on board we can easily improve that figure."
Rovers hope to take another big step towards safety when they travel to Cinderford Town in the Dr Martens League Western Division tomorrow (3.00).
It will be only Rovers' second league game in the last five weeks, having had three blank Saturdays in the last four.
But they are 10 points ahead of Stourbridge, who occupy one of the relegation spots, and victory at Cinderford, who are two places above them in 14th, will be a massive boost.
It is their first visit to the Gloucestershire club since an FA Cup first round tie in 1995-96, when Rovers, then in the Conference, suffered a shock 2-1 defeat.
Manager Steve Daley is likely to stick to the side that beat Evesham United 1-0 in their last outing two weeks ago.
