BROMSGROVE Rovers play the first of two fund-raising friendlies tonight when First Division Wolves visit the Victoria Ground (7.45).
Rovers are hoping for big crowds tonight and tomorrow, when Aston Villa come to town, to help the club clear debts of more than £100,000.
Manager Steve Daley, a former Wolves player himself, is delighted at the gesture from the two Midlands giants. He said: "It just shows the spirit that is within football."
Daley and his assistant Phil Parkes are still working without wages. He said: "We intend to safeguard the future of the club. If that means going without wages, that will be fine."
Regular first-team squad members Paul Simpson and Havard Flo are among the players included in a strong Wolves squad.
