The memories will come flooding back for Evesham United boss Phil Mullen tomorrow when his side entertain Bromsgrove Rovers (3.00) in the Dr Martens League Western Division.

Mullen has long links with Rovers, having both managed the club and played for them. And tomorrow's game will give his the chance to meet up with some old friends.

"The years I spent at Bromsgrove as both manager and player were cherished times for me.

"I have a great fondness for the club as it has played a special part in my career.

"When I was out of football last season, I watched plenty of games at the Victoria Ground and regularly met up with people who I consider to be special friends from my days there."

And he added that he was more disappointed than most to see the club struggling near the foot of the table.

"The last thing I want is to see them in the state they are in. But come tomorrow, I will have to concentrate on doing what's right for Evesham even if it means another defeat for Bromsgrove."

Meanwhile, Craig Gillett could be the latest player to follow former boss Mullen to Evesham United.

The former Kidderminster Harriers central defender has had talks with the Common Road club and could make his debut for the Robins tomorrow.

"We have spoken to Craig and he is keen on joining," Mullen said.

"He did a great job for me at Redditch and I was surprised when they released him. I have been looking to improve certain areas and he certainly fits the bill."

* Steve Daley has told his Bromsgrove Rovers players to shapen up or get out.

The Greens dropped down into the

bottom four of the Western Division following their 5-0 defeat at Hinckley United last weekend, a result that prompted the manager to ring the changes at the Victoria Ground.

Daley said: "Bromsgrove Rovers are a big club and I'm determined to take them back to the Conference and the glory days.

"It's going to be a long-term process and I want to know which players want to help me achieve that aim."

The manager has already snapped up two new additions to the Rovers squad.

Greg Parkes, whose father Phil is coach at the club, has arrived from Interlink Express Midland Alliance side Bridgnorth Town while Paul Moore has returned following a brief spell with Stourbridge.

Russell Dodd may be one of the first to leave the club following Daley's new 'get tough' stance. The defender has been linked with Evesham.
