BROMSGROVE Rovers slumped to their third Dr Martens League Western Division defeat on the trot when they were beaten 3-1 at Blakenall last night.
Blakenall's enthusiasm was rewarded after seven minutes when striker Matt Coppin drilled a hard low shot past Nore Gabbidon.
The home side could consider themselves unlucky when Rov-ers drew level five minutes before the interval. A deep inswinging corner from Michael Jameson was met by Lee Harper, but the Blakenall defender could only turn ball past his keeper Paul McHale.
This should have spurred Rovers on to greater things but just seconds before half time Jon Worsey's mazy run ended in a neat left foot screamer that raced past Gabbidon for the lead at the break. Steve Round completed the victory on 72 minutes.
Rovers: Gabbidon 6, Burrow 6, Nielson 6 (Cameron 73), Townsend 6, S Frost 7, Turpin 6, Benbow 7, Jameson 6, Owen 6, Burgess 7, Pountney 8.
Star player: Craig Pountney.
Attendance: 70.
