JOHN Brain has confirmed that Worcester are in talks to bring centre David Officer to Sixways.
Worcester's director of rugby is hoping to wrap up the deal in the next couple of days as he looks to bolster his squad for next season's promotion push.
Officer watched Worcester's final game of last season at Moseley and talks have been on-going after assistant coach Andy Keast made the former Harlequins man one of his main targets.
The Edinburgh Reivers star will be brought to Sixways as an outside centre to battle Ben Hinshelwood for the jersey. "It's just an on-going situation," said Brain. "We are still talking with his agent and hope to conclude a deal soon. We think it is close though."
Officer's imminent Sixways arrival will have a knock-on effect for Chris Yates who looks to have played his final game for Worcester.
Brain, however, was remaining diplomatic over Yates' future. "Chris is aware of the situation," added Brain. "He has been put in the picture but nothing is decided yet."
