IF Worcester City ever get stuck for attacking ideas Pat Lyons could be the man to help his team-mates find some inspiration.
The midfielder, who signed from Burton Albion in the summer, recently completed an intensive two week course for his UEFA badge.
Part of the course included studying different methods of attack and Lyons, as one of the younger coaches present, was involved in the thick of things.
From nine in the morning to nine at night the group, including England Under 21 boss David Platt, were put through their paces at Lilleshall and Lyons admits it was hard work.
However the Derby coach passed with flying colours and is looking forward to putting his new skills into action at the youth academy where he works with the Rams most promising youngsters.
City boss John Barton has been impressed with Lyons fitness since returning and is looking to him to produce at St George's Lane.
A bruised ankle kept him out of Tuesday's friendly with Stourport but he expects to be fit and in line for a place in next Saturday's curtain opener against Hastings.
Meanwhile, injury-hiy full back Allan Davies is edging back to fitness after surgery on his ankle though is unlikely to figure ahead of Jon Holloway who has staked a claim for a defensive spot after a series of solid displays during pre season.
Finally club officials have pointed out that Monday's friendly with Bedworth at St George's Lane is being treated as a Greenbacks' home game.
