MARC Burrow is set to miss the start of Worcester City's campaign after suffering a back injury.
Goalkeeper Danny McDonnell suffered the same problem last season and was ruled out for 18 matches.
The 24-year-old defender was laid low by a back spasm at the start of Tuesday's friendly against Stourport Swifts and now faces an anxious wait to see how long he will be out for. His back seized up just two minutes into the match and left him writhing in agony.
Burrow admitted he had never experienced pain like it and his team-mates were forced to leave the dressing room during the half- time break because his discomfort was too upsetting.
"I felt fine and had done my normal warm-up when my back suddenly gave way as I stretched for a ball," he said.
