SUDDEN death - The police were informed on Saturday afternoon of the sudden death of an elderly woman named Ann Gibbs residing in lodgings in Oswald Street.
She had no relatives and had been partially paralysed for a long time in consequence of which she had been unable to leave her room for three years.
It was not deemed necessary to hold a inquest.
Tardebigge - On Saturday last at 9am, a severe thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and hail passed over Tardebigge.
A large, old oak tree on Mr Buckley's farm at Sheltwood was struck by lightning and completely destroyed.
