Jubilant Studley parents heard this week they have won the first battle in their fight to keep a secondary school in the village.
Their plans for the retention of Studley High School after reorganisation were being considered by education chiefs late yesterday.
The county council education committee was discussing whether to approve plans to make Studley High a secondary school for children aged 11 to 16. If the scheme gets the go- ahead, it could be forwarded to the Government as an alternative to plans already submitted to send children aged eight to 12 to the school.
