ABOUT £660 has now been raised by parishioners of Ipsley towards the £1,500 needed for the restoration of the tower of St Peter's Church.
Last week's Christmas fair and social held in the church hall on Wednesday realised £25 for the fund, which was opened nearly two years ago.
The fair was opened by the rector, the Rev DA Notley, and the stalls included needlework, white elephant and Christmas foliage.
The rector auctioned a parcel of groceries and several of the items and competitions were won by Mr Craner, of Astwood Bank, and Mr Jones, of Watery Lane.
