REDS number two Gary Whild said Lee Booth's double strike against Studley on Tuesday will boost the goal-shy forward's confidence.
Originally credited with a hat-trick, the second goal has been credited as a Simon Redhead own goal, but Whild said Booth would benefit from the game.
And the Valley assistant manager held out the prospect of young forward Kevin Jones joining the first team squad before the end of the season after a promising display.
United are hoping to arrange a friendly against Express & Star Legaue Premier Division hopefuls Causeway United on Saturday.
The friendly (ko 3pm) would be staged at Causeway's adopted home at Halesowen Town's Grove ground.
