IAN Britton last night found a possible cure for his defensive problems and could hand the player a debut in Saturday's Division Three key home game with Scunthorpe.
The Kidderminster Harriers boss, who this week released Daire Doyle and transfer listed Ian Foster, has moved for Nottingham Forest's Wes Morgan on a month's loan.
The 19-year-old centre-back, a product of Forest's thriving academy, has impressed for the Division One side's reserves.
Britton said: "I've had good reports about this lad. He's big, strong and he's going to be a very good player.
"Forest think very highly of him, so much so they are looking for him to be pushing into the first team by the end of this season.
"We're very fortunate to have him here. His arrival will keep the other players on their toes. He will provide a lot of competition.
"Scott Stamps is taking longer than we thought to recover from his operation. I feel we are still lacking something in defence. I think this lad will be the remedy for many of our problems."
Forest manager Paul Hart said: "We've been very pleased with the progress that Wes has made and he's reached the stage where he needs the challenge of league football.
"If he goes to Kidderminster he will get that and the loan will benefit us as much as him."
Harriers are believed to have failed in a temporary move for Morgan's team-mate Christian Edwards who was at Oxford on a similar basis this season.
Meanwhile, Foster, who scored 17 Conference goals when Harriers won promotion, is available for free or on loan.
The 26-year-old striker is said to be interesting Burton, who recently snapped up Andy Ducros, but will be in the squad to face Scunthorpe if no move materialises.
Britton said: "Whether Fozzie leaves soon is up to him. We haven't fallen out, I have no qualms about him staying here.
"It's unfortunate he hasn't enjoyed the best of luck over the past couple of seasons and has not been able to break into the side."
Midfielder Doyle is likely to interest Nuneaton who recently took him on loan.
Harriers will be without Dean Bennett and Scott Stamps (groin) on Saturday but fellow defender Kenny Coleman (stomach) could make the bench.
Bennett may miss around a month's action with a hamstring injury suffered in their heaviest league defeat of the season, a 3-0 weekend beating at Boston.
Harriers entertain Southend on Tuesday (7.45pm).
