MALVERN Town entertain Wolverhampton United at the Langland Stadium on Saturday (2.45) and will be looking to continue an Express and Star West Midlands League Premier Division run that has seen them pick 34 points out of a possible 36.
Despite Town's struggle to overcome relegation threatened Dudley Town last Saturday, Town will still be confident of success against a Wolverhampton side that sits in the lower half of the table.
Town general manager Richard Anson said: "Sometimes you are a victim of your own success, some of our performances in recent weeks have been outstanding, but it is impossible to maintain that standard week in and week out, even the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal have the odd blip along the way, but they tend to keep winning and that is what we did last week and need to continue doing.
"Obviously we are still aiming for the top spot and it is far too early for anyone to suggest that Westfields are going to win it, many sides over the years have blown decent leads over the Easter period alone, and we are still in February."
For tomorrow's game Town Boss Neil Hunt is likely to name an unchanged side from the Team that defeated Dudley last week, however there was good news concerning striker Billy Davis. Davis who was in outstanding form prior to a pre planned back operation in January, is likely be available again by the end of the month.
Commenting on Saturday's game, Hunt said: "It is another must win match, as the stakes get a little bit higher every week and we need to keep on proving that we are up to the challenge."
Hunt will select from: Watson, Williams, Leighton, Chalmers, Clayton, Johnson, Walton, Halion, Willetts, Cox, Roberts, Owen, Walker, Palmer and Hooper.
Town Reserves
The Town Reserves were without a game last Saturday, but will be hoping to continue their recent good form, when they visit Chaddersley Corbett on Saturday (2.45pm), in the Express and Star West Midlands League Division One (South).
Under 18s
The Under 18's had an excellent Midlands Youth League victory at Worcester City on Tuesday night.
The winning goal was scored by Ollie Endicott in the 55th minute, following good work by Mike Cole.
On Tuesday it is Town's turn to host the City in another League fixture, which kicks off at the Langland Stadium at 7.30pm.
