MALVERN Town visit Wolvehampton Casuals tomorrow (Saturday) in the Express and Star West Midlands League Premier Division (2.45pm).

One player who will not be included in their line up will be Darren Bullock. The ex-Huddersfield Town, Bury and Swindon player had signed for Town, but the transfer could not be concluded until former club Bromyard Town received some disciplinary documentation that Bullock was due to return.

By Saturday the Herefordshire club had not received the necessary papers and Bullock subsequently signed and played for Bromsgrove Rovers last Saturday.

Town general manager Richard Anson said: "We have not spoken to Darren since Saturday, and whilst we were made aware that there was an interest from Bromsgrove, Darren had indicated that he was still committed to us.

"To be honest we won't be following this up, as this is the second time Darren has done a U-turn on us this season and whilst we respect any players right to play in a higher standard of football, we too have our plans and ambitions and we are not prepared to play second fiddle and get messed about at the same time."

Town go to Wolverhampton on Saturday fired by the confidence of back to back wins against fellow title challengers Shawbury United and Ledbury Town, but Town boss Neil Hunt knows that there is still no margin for error.

Hunt said: "Westfields are still setting the standard and we simply cannot afford to drop any points, but we do not accept that they cannot be caught.

"Just over two months ago we were 14 points adrift of Ledbury and in the lower half of the table and although we always knew that we would make up ground, we now sit six points clear of Ledbury, which goes to prove that these gaps can be made up.

"There is no doubt that we have some quality in this squad, but in this league you cannot afford to drop the work ethic and have to earn your right to succeed and it is this message we are continually drumming into the players.

Hunt has one or injury concerns for the Casuals trip, Rik Halion picked up a knock against Ledbury and goalkeeper Melvyn Watson aggravated a thigh injury.

But John Walton, who missed last Saturday's trip to Shawbury due to a wedding and then the Ledbury game due to a bout of flu, is expected to return and 'keeper Dave Alden, who himself has been out with a thigh injury for the last seven weeks, might be fit enough to cover for Watson if his injury does not repair in time.

Malvern from: Watson, Alden, Williams, Cannon, Clayton, Walker, Palmer, Halion, Johnson, Walton, Owen, Leighton, Jones, Roberts, Cox, Willetts, Rose, Hooper and Goodman.

Town have no midweek fixture.
