ADAM Wilde made history last night in England's National Game XI 3-1 defeat against Belgium's U20 team in Ostend.
The winger became the first Worcester City player to represent his country while playing for the St George's Lane club.
Wilde, signed from Cambridge City earlier this season, wore the famous England number nine shirt and played for 70 minutes.
He had their best effort in the opening exchanges with a low drive after five minutes.
The Belgium side featured first division players including a couple with Champions League experience and two that had been on the bench during full internationals.
Aldershot's Roscoe D'Sane scored England's goal but their cause was not helped by the first half dismissal of Canvey Island's Chris Duffy for two yellow card offences.
City director Dave Boddy made the trip across the Channel to see Wilde in action.
"Adam acquitted himself well and hopefully he will get another opportunity against Holland in Eindhoven next month," said Boddy.
Worcester City's academy side have an important PASE league match tonight against unbeaten leaders Northwich Victoria at St George's Lane (7.30).
Manager Ray Woods describes it as a 'must-win' game with only the top two teams going through to the knockout stage of the competition.
City currently lie in second place and first team squad members Richard Tomkins, Dean Smith, Liam McDonald and Dan Parker will all be involved in the match.
Kidderminster Harriers on-loan midfielder John Melligan was drafted on as a second half substitute for the Republic of Ireland in their 2-0 defeat against Scotland in last night's U21 international friendly at Kilmarnock.
It was the Wolves player's first cap for the Republic.
