DANNY McDonnell is being tipped for international honours at non-league level after a string of brilliant displays for Worcester City.
The keeper has been in excellent form all season and St George's Lane boss John Barton believes he is worth a place in the England semi-professional side.
Ex-Stevenage Borough supremo Paul Fairclough is in charge of the England set-up and Barton admits he would have no hesitation in recommending Mc-Donnell.
"I'm not sure how the arrangements work at this level but if there is a better goalkeeper than Danny I have not seen him," said Barton.
"I think Paul Fairclough has been round long enough and has the experience to know which goalkeepers are doing the business. But from our point of view Danny has been in outstanding form all season and given the opportunity I would strongly recommend him to have a good look at him."
McDonnell has helped City forge one of the best defences in the Dr Martens Premier Division with Barton's team conceding just 20 goals in 28 games.
England's next match is against Holland in Eindhoven on March 25 with an U23 away to Belgium on February 11.
Another City player set to receive national honours is Dan Jones who has been selected to play for English Universities after a successful trial at Lilleshall.
Jones will play against the RAF on February 10 with further games planned against Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday academies. If Jones impresses during these matches he will be in line for a English Universities tournament in Edinburgh in April.
Jones has currently seen his first team opportunities hampered at St George's Lane and admits it has been frustrating sitting on the sidelines. "I'm a bit disappointed not to have played more but there's nothing I can do," he said. "At the moment I see my future at Worcester but we'll have to see what happens."
David Foy is due to see a specialist at Droitwich Knee Clinic before stepping up his rehabilitation on his injured knee.
The stitches in his ruptured cruciate ligament were due to have dissolved on Tuesday and he has started kicking a ball again.
However the midfielder is keen to get a final clean bill of health on the knee before upping his training schedule.
