WHAT a difference a season has made for Kidderminster Harriers boss Ian Britton!
Last term he was in charge of Harriers' youth side when they visited the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest in the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup.
Since then he has taken over the Aggborough 'hot-seat' from Jan Molby and will be taking the first team to meet Division One giants Forest in the first round of the Worthington Cup during the week commencing September 9.
And for Britton it's a challenge he can't wait to face.
"The trip to Forest last season was probably the biggest game of my career as manager of our youth team and now this match will probably be the biggest as manager of the first team, " he said.
Last term Harriers youth returned from the City Ground on February 20 after losing 3-0 to Forest in front of a 734 crowd.
It followed a record-breaking run in the competition in which they knocked out Macclesfield Town, Scunthorpe United, Sutton United and Grimsby Town.
Meanwhile, Martin Sweeney, Birmingham County FA youth team manager for the last five years, has been appointed as a scout for Harriers.
His brief is to find talented players in the 16-19 year-old age range and assess Third Division opposition.
Forty-nine year-old Sweeney is an ex-boss of Hednesford reserves and Rushall.
His Birmingham FA team have reached the national county final for the last three years, winning twice.
