WORCESTERSHIRE recalled seam bowler Matt Mason for their vital Frizzell County Championship Division Two clash with Glamorgan, which started at Cardiff today.
Mason has recovered from a hand problem and replaced Chris Liptrot from the side that lost by six wickets to leaders Middlesex at New Road last week.
However, wicketkeeper Steve Rhodes failed a fitness test on a thigh injury, allowing James Pipe to continue behind the stumps.
Glamorgan won the toss and elected to bat, but openers Ian Thomas and Matthew Maynard were not troubled and took the score to 64 without loss after 14 overs.
Glamorgan: I. Thomas, Maynard, Hemp, Powell, Dale, Hughes, Wallace, Croft, D. Thomas, Davies, Parkin.
Worcestershire: Singh, Peters, Hick, Smith, Solanki, Leatherdale, Batty, Pipe, Kabir Ali, Mason, Sheriyar.
Umpires: D J Constant, I J Gould.
Worcestershire face an uphill battle to avoid defeat in their final Second XI Championship clash with Leicestershire at Kidderminster.
The County were 138-4 in their second innings, still 128 runs behind, with Nathan Round unbeaten on 63.
Leicestershire were earlier bowled out for 525 thanks to Luke Wright's 136no and Rob Cunliffe's 83. Depesh Patel was the top bowler with 3-115.
