PATIENTS and volunteers at Kemp Hospice have made a collage to brighten up a brand new facility in Africa.
The colourful creation was sent to Tanzania's first ever hospice, due to be completed by November, earlier this month.
The gift - which took a month to make in the summer - was spurred after the sister of one of the volunteers at Kemp's satellite centre in Tenbury flew to the east African country to help set up the hospice.
Now Kemp is hoping to set up links with the Princess Diana Hospice, built with support from the Princess Diana trust, in Muheza district.
"Everybody each did a bit - we tried to make it as patient-orientated as possible," said occupational therapist Candy Shelley, who organises craft activities.
"They feel Kemp gives them a lot and they are always pleased to be able to put something back in."
Mrs Shelley added: "We thought the new hospice would have no decorations, and this collage is something bright and lovely that costs them nothing.
"We're trying to set up links - we'll send some home made Christmas cards and perhaps this article. Hopefully we'll get pen pal links."
