DESPITE being the entertainment reporter for the Shuttle/Times and News, I don't see as many of Kidderminster's bands in action as I would like.
That's why I would hesitate before nominating The Amateurs as the best group in town - but suffice to say I would be pleasantly surprised if someone came along and proved me wrong.
They have undergone a couple of line-up changes since their album Anything You Want it to Be landed on my desk a while back and became an almost permanent fixture in my CD player.
Opinions being what they are, I'm sure the band aren't everyone's cup of tea but melodic, tuneful pop-rock like this is hard to dislike on a relaxed Sunday night.
And The Amateurs have an enviable knack of churning out instantly memorable songs you're sure you've known all your life.
A set sprinkled with a couple of well-chosen covers was rounded off by a rendition of surely one of their best songs, Easy To Forget. It's not. AMD
