MIDFIELDER Matt Southwick could be the next player to leave Stourport Swifts for Redditch United due to a change in transfer rules.
Former Swifts boss Rod Brown has put in a seven-day approach for his old player who he wants to reunite with Gary Whild, Brendan Hackett, Lea Shaw, Lee Booth and Quentin Townsend.
Clubs are no longer limited to signing two non-contract players from the same rival duing a season.
Southwick joined Swifts from Stourbridge in March 2000 and has scored five goals this season although the signing of Ian Cottrill and emergence of Tim Nicholls could restrict his chances.
And manager Tim Langford admits Southwick, a travelling companion of Shaw and Booth, is likely to leave for their Worcestershire rivals.
Redditch are desperate for fresh blood after their 4-3 midweek win over Swifts turned sour with Saturday's 5-0 home thrashing by fellow strugglers Shepshed Dynamo.
Swifts, meanwhile, endured a frustrating weekend when their game with promotion-chasing Weston-super-Mare was postponed due to the wet weather.
Swifts' next game is on Tuesday against high-flying Solihull Borough at Walshes Meadow (7.45pm).
