President Pearl Prior welcomed members and Lynda Soloway as a visitor. Thanks were given to Beattie Denning for a spectacular bowl of spring flowers, tea ladies Nina White and Marjorie Hammond and Bunty Booth, Beattie Denning and Jean Adams for supplying and arranging flowers at WI House in Worcester. Secretary Joy Overton and the treasurer gave their reports. Dorothy Radford gave details of outings. A boot sale will be held at Highland Orchard farm on April 12.
Our speaker was Jackie Gregory talking on "Jumpers Galore and ACWW". Jackie has done wonderful work organising the knitting of jumpers by WI members and dispatching them to Gambia, where she has visited and supported children. A vote of thanks was given by Janet King. The competition "A Picture of a Child from Africa" was won by Ruth Mason, Rae Fowler and Jean Towler coming second and third respectively.
The next meeting, next Wednesday, will have a talk by Mike Ledbury on "Confessions of a Morris Man"! Why not come and join us at Burcot Village Hall at 2.15pm.
